You must know what you are paying for!

  4. The contract should be specific about the types of finishes and where they will be use, i.e. body, walls, doors, trim, etc.
Finishes: flat, eggshell, satin-low luster, semi-gloss, gloss, high gloss enamel, oil or latex

  5. Contract pricing. Total amount includes what??
All expenses such as labor, paint, and prep-materials, stains, urethanes, carpentry, labor and materials, and any extra charges for special services must be detailed.

  6. Billing terms must be specific.

  7. State approximate dates for work to done if it is known at contract time.

  8. A signature approval contract page should be included for the customer with 2 copies of the contract - one for the customer to keep, one to sign-date and return to the contractor with the appropriate deposit if required.
